“I don’t want to play a …”: Do Not Expect Sadie Sink to Play a Marvel Hero After Stranger Things as Actress Crashes Every Superhero Fan’s Dream With One Revelation

Sadie Sink brings an end to speculation about her rumored MCU future; reveals that she has had enough of superhero/fantasy projects.
Sadie Sink has had quite the journey. She is one of the rare performers who had the fate of having done Broadway even before entering her teens. It is another story that she called it quits at 11. That did not deter her from becoming a sensation with Stranger Things, striking gold as Max Mayfield.
As a part of the central pack who saved the day, time and again from the Upside Down, Sink became a fan favorite in no time. But turns out she has had enough of fantasy roles, and is looking to explore uncharted territory.
Sadie Sink already has a plan for her future
Don’t let her age fool you. Sadie Sink knows what her heart wants. While a crippling fear of the Broadway crowd did force her to retire at the age of 11, she was not one to be bogged down by that. From a girl who couldn’t bear to sing before anyone but her closest friends in the aftermath of her retirement, she is about to star in O’Dessa, a film that will see her take the mic again.
She has quite a repertoire of projects in her basket, having been associated with Stranger Things, The Whale, and the much-loved music video of Taylor Swift’s All Too Well. And she knows this isn’t the time for her to stop. The only thing on her agenda – keep your mind open to new things.

Sadie Sink draws a curtain on her Marvel career, for now
The mantra of looking for new challenges head on, and her acting prowess, will ensure that Sadie Sink always has something great to look forward to. But her propensity for looking for clear waters spells doom for her Marvel future, and fans of the MCU.
In an interaction with Variety, the Dear Zoe star has confirmed that being a part of the Stranger Things series has taken its toll on her. The downside – she has had enough of being a part of a project that is larger than life. She said,
I don’t want to play a superhero or a princess. I just want to make sure everything that I’m doing is different than the last. I’m still young, and I’m still learning.”

These words seem to have sealed the fate of her Marvel career for the near future at least.

Sadie Sink is no stranger to experimenting and trying (old) things again
While Sink is bent on doing nothing related to superheroes for the time being, decisions change. The 22-year-old herself overturned her call to quit from projects that required her to sing, agreeing to the part of Geremy Jasper’s O’Dessa. And she had her doubts about it.

She said,
“There was this moment where I was just like, ‘Oh my God. I can’t believe I said yes to this. Fuck. What am I doing?!’”

Her troubles would go away sooner rather than later. It would take some time for the inner monologue to subside. She continued,

“There were some days where it was harder than others. But sometimes, it was like, ‘I feel completely fearless right now, and I’m singing in front of a lot of people!’”
Sadie came through, being the champion she is. A star of her ilk would be a valuable addition to any franchise. The MCU is no different. Alas! The rumors of her playing the role of Jean Grey can rest in peace, for now.
