Halsey’s bold message on Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis amid own illness battle

American singer Halsey had a protective message for Kate Middleton addressing the speculations about her whereabouts after Kate’s cancer diagnosis. This came months before the singer disclosed her own illness

Halsey defended Kate Middleton a couple of months before she revealed her own illness struggles.

The singer took to Instagram on the day Kate publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis in a video message on March 22. Halsey criticized the speculations that occurred before the princess’ announcement. Speculations and theories were rife, from the media and on social media, about Kate’s noticeable absence the past couple months, the viral photoshopped photo for Mother’s Day and supposed video sightings.

The post Halsey’s wrote on their Instagram story began: “Hope the people and media who sensationalized a woman’s desire for privacy following a known health incident are experiencing regret and remorse. And by the way, that would stand even without the terrible news of her journey.”

“I understand that when you have a public life certain things like this can get out of hand. But God forbid someone needs a few weeks or months, it’s no one’s business why,” she continued. “And with respect to public life, who you are and how you’re doing when you ‘sign up for this’ is subject to change at any moment.”

The Bad at Love artist ended with: “And the newly changed ‘you’ in place (for whatever amount of time; days weeks years) may not have the same stamina or tolerance.”

This fierce defense of Princess of Wales amid scrutiny comes a couple months after the pop star shared information about their own private health battle.

On Tuesday, June 4, Halsey shared her first single from her upcoming fifth studio called The End is out. The Instagram post had a caption along with the carousel of images and videos that divulged that she has been enduring serious health issues: “Long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now. @lupusresearchalliance @llsusa.”

The carousel of photos and videos featured the 29-year-old receiving medical treatment and recording music. In the first video, Halsey massaging their legs, saying, “I feel like an old lady. I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. By 30 I’m having a rebirth, and I’m not gonna be sick, and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna re-do my 20s in my 30s. Seriously.”

The singer-songwriter shared a video of themselves wearing a mask during “day one” of treatment, a text conversation with someone named Anthony showing a sent note of the presumed new single, a clip of them playing acoustic guitar and recording The End in the dark, and a ending montage of their emotional medical journey.

Halsey will donate proceed from the The End to theLupus Research Alliance and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, both organizations she tagged in her current social media post. Although, she has not specified what her ailments are.

The mother-of-one has dealt with health issues before when she opened up in May 2022 about being diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome and POTS (postural tachycardia syndrome). She also revealed her struggle with endometriosis.
